An integral part of the South Main development is the white water park. With six play
features and over a mile of walking trail, the South Main team intends to build the best
whitewater park in the world.
The river park will offer challenges to the pro kayakers as well as opportunities for
the beginners to practice their newly learned skills. This park will undoubtedly play
host to many whitewater events and festivals for years to come.
As part of Jed and Katie’s dream to keep this stretch of river open to the public
forever, they chose to give the land adjacent to the river park to the Town of Buena Vista.
Those of us at South Main believe that no element of a community works and thrives in
isolation. Therefore, in order to bring this dream to life we must consider the river,
the environment, and the people, and how each element interacts with one another. We look
forward to the river park being a gathering place for all members of the community to enjoy.
